Weather update Mass. campuses: 2/13 classes cancelled: February 12, 2024 3:00 pm

The National Weather Service is forecasting a snow storm for the New England area starting in the early morning hours on Tuesday, February 13. The City of Boston has declared a weather emergency for Tuesday. The storm is expected to intensify between the mid-morning and mid-afternoon hours with snowfall rates estimated at 1-2 inches per hour combined with strong winds and whiteout conditions in parts of Massachusetts.

Due to the timing of the storm, all classes tomorrow (Tuesday, February 13) are canceled for all Massachusetts campuses, including Boston. Administrative offices are expected to maintain business continuity for the benefit of our teaching and research mission. Managers should use discretion in providing flexibility for employees who’s ability to work on campus may be impacted by the weather. Staff who expect disruptions in commuting or with childcare should contact their supervisors about the need for flexibility.

On the Boston campus, all dining halls, recreational facilities, and the library are expected to operate on their normal, weekday schedules. The tents on Robinson Quad and the Bubble on Carter Field will be closed.
